Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
PC Game Port (ABN 57 181 965 323, "we", "us") is based in South Australia, Australia. This policy covers the PC Game Port app for macOS, the website pcgameport.com, and purchases of a subscription. The short version: there's no account, no analytics and no tracking, and the app keeps your library and settings on your Mac.
What the app sends, and to whom
| When | What is sent | To |
|---|---|---|
| You enter a subscription key | The subscription key and your Mac's model (for example "MacBook Pro (14-inch, M5)"), so you can recognise this Mac in your list of activations. Never your name or your Mac's name | Our payment provider's key service |
| At most once a week while subscribed | The subscription key and the activation ID, to check the subscription is still active | Our payment provider |
| You click Deactivate This Mac | The subscription key and the activation ID | Our payment provider |
| At most once a day, and when you click Check for Updates | A standard request for the newest version number. Nothing about you or your Mac. If you choose to update, the new version downloads from the same place | GitHub (our download host) |
| First setup only | A standard download request for the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime installer | Microsoft (aka.ms) |
Like any internet request, these also reveal your IP address to the service that receives them. The app sends nothing else. It has no analytics, crash reporting or advertising code.
What stays on your Mac
Your game library, playtime, settings, subscription key, logs and error history are stored only on your Mac, in your user Library folder and in ~/Games. We can't see them. Deleting the app's folders removes them. The date your free trial started is also kept in your Mac's login keychain (as "local.macgamers.trial"), so reinstalling doesn't restart the trial. It's a date only, and Keychain Access can delete it.
Error reports and support email
The app's Copy Report button puts a report on your clipboard: your macOS version, Mac model, processor and memory, Wine build, app settings, game list and recent errors, without your username. It is only sent to us if you paste it into an email yourself. We use support emails and reports only to help you, and delete them on request.
Subscribing
Orders are handled by our payment provider, our reseller and merchant of record. It collects your name, email address, billing country and payment details, and processes them under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email address, country, what you bought and the subscription key, which we use to provide the subscription, support and refunds, and keep as long as tax law requires. We never see your full card details.
The website
pcgameport.com is a static site hosted by Hostinger, and downloads come from GitHub Releases. Hostinger and GitHub may log your IP address and browser details for security, under the Hostinger Privacy Policy and the GitHub Privacy Statement. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. If you pick light or dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser only.
Games and other Windows programs
Games, launchers and stores you run in PC Game Port connect to their own services and are covered by their own privacy policies, not this one.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the Australian Privacy Principles, the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you can ask to see, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email support@pcgameport.com and we'll answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, which in Australia is the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). We don't sell or share personal data for advertising.
Children
PC Game Port isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects what the app sends, we'll mention it in the release notes of the update that makes it.
